It’s been officially two years of the Scared Confident podcast…completely mind-blowing!
In this special episode, Tiffany introduces her new brand, as well as shares some clarity she’s gained around her personal mission—and, how that impacts Scared Confident in the coming years.
Tiffany Sauder:
I cannot believe we're here. This episode marks two years since we dropped the first episode of Scared Confident, and it's wild. It's really wild to sit back and reflect. So,I wanna take the time
to like synthesize where my mind is at as far as what is the next two years of scared, confident, and where do we go from here? Why do I do this? Who do I hope to reach? What impact do I want this to have on the world? , all those kinds of things
we're also launching new branding today, which we're very excited about. So you'll see new podcast cover art. I've launched a new website@tiffanysouder.com. and so we're very excited about it.
If you see it and you have a reaction to it, positive or negative, we'd love it if you shared it with us. I'd love to hear from people and we're really excited about I'd say just solidifying this new direction for the brand and. Just getting more clear about who I am and the message that I wanna put into the world.
if I were to summarize I guess as a positioning statement, like I really wanna become the premier resource for two career homes, navigating career, family, and self.
I look at this podcast as like, two parts. One is a rear view mirror, which is me looking at the last, now 18 years, 20 years of my professional career. What did I learn? How do I share it?
How do I synthesize it? How do I be real and vulnerable so that the things I did right, you can do right? And the things I did wrong and the lessons I learned, you can pick those up and make your journey faster. That's half of it. Rear view mirror, maybe it's thirds. that's part of it. .
the second part is windshield, and that is, what do I see? I am not done with my career. I am not done creating. I am not done leading. I am not done mentoring. I am not done with any of that. I'm not done parenting. I'm not done growing. And so the other part of the podcast, As I'm driving through life, how do I vulnerably share what I see, what I'm learning real time as I'm continuing to grow?
That's the next segment of the podcast. And then the third is how do we talk to people who also are on this journey ahead of me, resources for people like me, and how do we learn from them? Tips, hacks, tools, resources, things to make. This thing called life that we want so much out of it. How do we extract the most we can?
How do we talk to people who can help us on that journey? And the world I live in is out of a two career home. It's what I've always lived in as a married person, and it's what it's probably gonna always look like around here. And so that segment of the population I just feel like I can speak to really authentically.
And what do I mean by two career, home? I mean that both people in the relationship have careers. Not just jobs, not just two income, but this is really a segment where there are two careers and it really becomes a. Both of you cannot go all out all the time if you're also gonna have a family. It doesn't work that way.
How do you resource it? How do you talk through it? How do you make sure that you have a plan so that you're not just serving your careers, but you're also serving your family? You've got relationships that you're proud of. You've got experiences that are enriching your life. You've got deep friendships you have time for, and you also are happy with who you.
physically, how you look emotionally, how you feel spiritually investing in yourself. That's what I mean by a life of, and we're navigating our careers, we're navigating our families, and we're navigating ourself, and we want all of those things to grow. How? How do we do that? Is it too much to ask for life to give us excellence in all those areas?
I say no. I say no. , but your mindset has to be that you can be excellent in all those areas. My mindset, my expectation of my life is that I'm excellent in all those areas in my career, in my family, my friends, and in myself. And if that is your expectation, you gotta figure out how are we gonna do it? So am I a perfect 10 at all of it?
All the time. No. But I am on a very passionate pursuit to get there, and I promise you that this podcast and the resources that I create around it are going to help people who want that outta life.
That's who I want to help. I really feel like I have a cry in my heart and a calling on my life. to create a resource that can help people like that. And, it doesn't come without sacrifice. It doesn't come without hard work. It doesn't come without being able to be honest with yourself. It doesn't come without putting yourself into new environments of growth that are challenging and unnerving and all of those kinds of things.
I think that's the beautiful part of the journey and I'm excited for what's ahead. Um, . The impact I want to have is, I wanna normalize what it looks like. Brian Kiki's been on the podcast a couple of times, and one of the most important things that he did for me as an early entrepreneur is I would be like doing something and kind of wanna look to the side and be like, am I doing it wrong?
is this supposed to hurt this bad? should I already be there? am I doing this wrong? Like I said that twice, but that's what you're wondering. am I doing this wrong? ? Or is it just take more work? Like, I don't know. And I wanna normalize the journey. I wanna normalize what it feels like. I wanna normalize where the friction is at, not because we have to accept it, but because then you start to know like you're not crazy, you're not crazy, you just maybe need a new strategy or a new tool to help you on the road.
And so I wanna normalize what the journey looks like. I also wanna provide tools and resource. To help you have good conversations, to help you have good structure, to help you have good strategies to help you have processes that support an environment of a life of, and it cannot be done in a chaotic way if you want it to be sustainable.
That doesn't mean that you have to have labels on everything in your pantry, but it does mean that you have to commit to some disciplines that keep things so the water can be calm so the boat can go fast. You are constantly crashing into waves. You are constantly like hitting rocks. It's just an unsustainable ride.
And so what are the things you can put in place to help make sure that there's like calm waters so that you can focus? Putting all the hands together. and then also just provid like hacks and tips of things that I've learned and inspiring stories of people that have gone before us that have done it, and how do we continue to press forward and be inspired by the people who have gotten everything that they dreamed of.
So that's kind of scare Confident 2.0 um, so many of you have, asked me how you can help. And so if you are interested in helping me in this journey and continue to grow, scare confident into the future over the next couple of years, leaving a review on Apple Podcast is always helpful, that it plays into the algorithm. And that's always helpful.
So you can leave a review on Apple Podcast if you haven't already. Share it with a friend, take a favorite episode, share it with them. it's a great way for me to get new listeners and for the message to continue to get traction. The third is, if you're not already sign up for the newsletter. I'm gonna put more energy, in this next year into the newsletter and also into speaking engagements.
and so if you sign up for the newsletter again, give me feedback like, reply. Tiffany, this one was so helpful on my word. I took a screenshot of this on my phone. or I thought this was weird and way off base , um, helps me know what's helpful, because ultimately that is the goal for you to feel like this gave you even five more minutes.
A time sparked a creative idea, helped you calm some waters in your own life. That's what the newsletter's for. And then the fourth is, if you have an industry conference or a conference you've been to before where you feel like my message can. I'm looking for speaking engagements, for this coming fall and into the spring of 24.
And so if you have a recommendation of an organizer I should talk to, or a conference that I should look into, love the names of those. and we'll see if it's a fit.
thank you guys for listening. Thanks for being part. My tribe, and thanks most of all for just your encouragement on this journey. I work hard to dump my most vulnerable self into this microphone. And uh, thanks for showing up with me.
Join me on this journey of embracing a Life of
